On 9 June 2020, Canada will begin to allow immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to cross the Canada-US border into the country. Immediate family members must plan to stay in Canada for at least 15 days.
This exemption applies in the context of Canada’s temporary deal with the United States banning non-essential travel across the border, which is in place until at least 21 June 2020.
All foreign national who are admitted to Canada pursuant to this exemption must quarantine for a period of 14 days. The same public health guidelines also apply, including screenings at the border.
