Bassam is an experienced lawyer with over 10 years of practice in immigration and refugee law, handling a wide range of cases that vary in nature, scope, and complexity, including those at the appellate level. He frequently represents clients before the Federal Court and all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, advocating for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Bassam holds both common law and civil law degrees from the University of Ottawa, where he also completed undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and psychology. His passion for law led him to clerk at the Federal Court, where he worked closely with the justices, gaining invaluable insights into the judicial process.

In 2017, Bassam furthered his education with a master’s degree in international criminal law, focusing on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, where he had previously interned during law school. This experience sparked his particular interest in the intersection of refugee law and international criminal law – a focus that continues to shape his practice today.

Committed to legal education, Bassam has taught courses in La Cité Collégiale’s Paralegal Program and at the University of Ottawa’s French Law Practice Program. His dedication to the community is evident through his work with organizations such as the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) and the Catholic Centre for Immigrants (CCI Ottawa), where he supports newcomers and vulnerable groups.

An active member of the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), Bassam was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2012. He also serves as the LSO representative on the Justice of the Peace Review Council (JPRC), where he reviews and investigates complaints about the conduct of justices of the peace.

Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Bassam is well-equipped to assist clients in all three languages. Outside of his legal work, he enjoys running, reading, and traveling – pursuits that keep him grounded and inspired.

Nataly has been practicing immigration law since 2014, with a particular focus on business immigration. She represents both employers and employees, navigating the complexities of immigration policies to achieve successful outcomes for her clients. Her practice encompasses a broad range of immigration and refugee issues, with a deep commitment to administrative law as well.

Nataly holds both a Juris Doctor and a civil law degree from the University of Ottawa, having completed the National Program. Before joining Azzi Law, she gained significant experience working for the Government of Canada and served as a Law Clerk to the Honourable Justice Sean J. Harrington at the Federal Court, where she worked on a wide array of immigration and refugee matters.

In addition to her legal practice, Nataly is dedicated to legal education. She has taught classes in La Cité Collégiale’s Paralegal Program and at the University of Ottawa’s French Law Practice Program. Her involvement in the community is extensive, serving on various boards and providing pro bono legal services to numerous organizations.

Nataly is an active member of the Law Society of Ontario and is fluent in English, French, and Arabic. Outside of her legal work, Nataly remains highly engaged in her community, contributing her expertise and time to support those in need.

Since October 2017, Christian Azzi has been dedicated to practicing immigration and refugee law, drawing on a strong academic foundation and diverse legal experiences to advocate effectively for his clients. He holds an Honours B.A. in Psychology and pursued two years of graduate studies at the University of Moncton, where he focused on the assimilation of immigrants into Canadian society. This academic background has profoundly influenced his approach to navigating the complex legal challenges faced by his clients. Christian further developed his legal skills by earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa.

Christian’s legal career began with a clerkship at the Social Security Tribunal of Canada as part of the esteemed French Law Practice Program. Over the years, he has successfully represented clients from across the globe, including Africa, South America, Asia, North America, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe, achieving a high success rate across various tribunals and courts.

Christian is known for his client-centered approach, taking the time to understand each client's unique circumstances and providing personalized legal strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes. While his primary focus remains on immigration and refugee law, he is also expanding his practice into real estate law, aiming to offer a broader range of services to meet the needs of his community.

Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Christian’s language skills enhance his ability to communicate and advocate for clients from diverse backgrounds.

Beyond his legal practice, Christian is deeply committed to his community. He has provided significant support to vulnerable populations through his work with organizations such as Shepherds of Good Hope and the Ottawa Mission. He is also a member of Legal Aid Ontario's refugee panel, where he contributes to assisting those seeking refuge in Canada.
