Permanent Residents

Caregiver

Canada has introduced new pilot programs designed to support caregivers and Canadian families more effectively. These new pathways reflect Canada's commitment to supporting those who play a crucial role in caregiving across the nation, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to Canadian families.

These initiatives will not only grant caregivers permanent residency upon their arrival but also allow them to work for organizations that provide temporary or part-time care for people who are semi-independent or recovering from an injury or illness. This initiative aims to simplify the process for caregivers to find stable employment and gain immediate access to permanent resident status.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum of level 4 in the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)
  • Equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma
  • Recent and relevant work experience
  • An offer for a full-time home care job

As these programs are newly announced and specifics are still being finalized, we encourage you to frequently visit our website for updates on these programs as they are made available by the Government of Canada.
