Liberal’s Proposed Changes to the Citizenship Act

On 25 February 2016, the Liberal government proposed important changes to the Citizenship Act. These amendments undo several citizenship eligibility requirements implemented by the previous government.

The following amendments, among others, have been proposed in the new legislation “An Act to amend the Citizenship Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act”:
